MAMbo - Museo D'Arte Moderna Bologna [Bologna’s Modern Art Museum]

The Modern Art Gallery in Bologna took on a new name and trademark, MAMbo - Museo Arte Moderna Bologna, and relocated to the former Forno del Pane [Bread Oven], a historical building renovated for this purpose (in over a decade of work) in the Manifattura delle Arti, the new cultural hub of the city of Bologna.

The New City Museum opened on 5 May 2007.
For those wanting to become familiar with the other exhibition locations of the Istituzione Galleria d’Arte Moderna of Bologna, we propose visits to the collection of the Morandi Museum.

Morandi Museum

The Morandi Museum of Bologna is housed in the prestigious Palazzo d'Accursio in thte civic and cultural heart of the city. Inside you will find the largest collection of works by Giorgio Morandi in an exhibitory arrangement abounding in profound and inspiring moments.
The layout is completed by a faithful reconstruction of Morandi's bedroom-studio with original furnishings, tools and models; a small space presenting the works of various masters from his personal collection of ancient art; a few "rooms of memory" featuring other objects of his that are famous as well as etchings portraying his family; the archives-library, which catalogues all his art books and literature along with a vast heritage of historical documentary material regarding his work and personality.
