Bologna of the Towers: the Manhattan of the Middle Ages
Duration: three hours – with a stop to see a demonstration of how to make homemade pasta
The ring of “toresotti” (no longer standing) was the series of city walls delimiting the entire conurbation of the 12th-century. Between these (now imaginary) walls is where the itinerary will bring you to discover the “hidden towers” of Bologna. Along the way you will see not only St. Peter’s Cathedral, but Via Galliera, a street in the historical center characterized by the succession of 15th and 16th century palaces, and the Church of St. Francis. During a stop at the bakery you will see a demonstration of making pasta by hand.
